BIG-hearted staff at Chester’s Nice ‘n’ Naughty will be messing about on the river this weekend in the name of charity.
Five employees from the Brook Street adult store will be making a splash on the River Dee on Sunday during the 2007 Chester Raft Race to raise funds for Dorin’s Park and Dee Banks School.
Store manager Claudine Thelwell and colleagues Louise Jones, Vicky Gower, Layton O’Sullivan and Lynsey Tweddell will navigate a 10 ft metal raft – built by City Metals – while dressed in James Bond style evening wear from the store.
Claudine said: “The staff here are always keen to support charity so we thought the raft race was a great way to raise money for a deserving local cause while having some fun too.
“The school does a fantastic job and we really wanted to help support the work it does for children with special needs.
“We’ve got a great team together and we’re confident we’ll do well in raising a lot of money and in the race too.”
Giving the team a helping hand will be Chester man Jeff White who will tow the team to the starting line in one of the fastest speed boats in Britain.
Company director Simon Prescott always encourages his staff to support local charities and is hoping his team will be first across the finishing line.
”This is a great event for Chester and it raises a lot of money for local charities so it’s important for Nice ‘n’ Naughty to take part,” he said.
“They’re a really good team and I’m sure they’re going to give the competition a run for their money.”
