Strap-ons
A strap-on consists of two elements: a dildo and a harness to hold it in place. The dildo is usually shaped like a penis and is available in different lengths and materials. Some dildos are specially designed for male beginners who have not received anal penetration before; these dildos are narrower and more tapered. For added stimulation, some dildos have ripples, bumps and other shapes on the surface. Harnesses also come in a range of materials and are held in place by 2, 3 or 4 straps. It’s important that the harness is sturdy but comfortable. Some strap-ons come with the dildo permanently attached. Others are detachable so that you can use different dildos with the same harness. To attach the dildo, there is normally a ring in the harness through which a wide based dildo is then inserted. There is also a system where the dildo fits on to a plug on the harness and grips by forming a vacuum seal. This system will hold the dildo more firmly in place but is also more expensive.
